What is Alignment Building?
Creating shared understanding and clear commitments among people who must act together.
What you learn
Write down what’s agreed, and the concerns that remain.
When it helps
a decision or plan has support in principle, but teams need to turn that agreement into commitments and resolve remaining concerns.
Use it at work
- Before meeting, ask each group what it needs and fears.
- In the meeting, name the agreement and each owner.
- Ask directly: “What concern are we still carrying?”
- Write it all down with dates, and share it.
Your output
End your next meeting by writing three lines: what we agreed, who owns each part, and which concerns are still open, with dates.
Watch for
Taking nods in a meeting as agreement, with doubts unspoken.
