What is Change Adoption?

Helping people actually use a new way of working, and learning from the switch.

What you learn

Make the new way easier than the old one.

When it helps

a new process or tool isn’t being used.

Use it at work

  1. Compare the old and new ways, step by step.
  2. Find what makes the new way harder or riskier.
  3. Remove those steps, and support people’s first tries.
  4. Track use, and ask people what still gets in the way.

Your output

For a change your team hasn’t adopted, write each step of the old way and the new way. Remove the steps that make the new way harder.

Watch for

Announcing a new process, then blaming people who don’t use it.
